What was the joke?

said the voice of the television announcer，这是一句倒装句，正常语序是：the voice of the television announcer said。之所以倒装，是为了避免句子头重脚轻，而且同时可以兼顾整个句子的倒装的完整性，因为said之前的to do结构其实是said的宾语，这相当于是个完全倒装的句子

we’re going over to the macaroni fields of Calabria. go over，在这里表示电台节目的“转向”。go over常见的意思是“检查；复习”。
