How to be a qualified oracle dabase adminstrator

I have considered the problem how to be a qualified oracle database adminstrator recently.  And I have done a lot to get the answer for the problem, for example, reading some materials about oracle databse, visit the offical web site of oracle database.  Now, I think I have got the answer.

 

There are eleven main duties  as follows to be an DBA. So  You have to learn how to deal with these problem  if you want to be a qualified DBA. Once you can deal with all the followed problems, you have been an qualified DBA.

 

1. Installing and upgrading the oracle dabase server and application tools (No matter any system, windows, linux, unix and solaris)
2. Allocating storage and planning future storage requirements for database system.
3. Creating primary database storage structures(tablespace) after application developers have designed an application
4. Creating primary objects(tables, views, indexed) once developers have designed an application
5. Modify the datase structure , as necessary, from information given by applicaton developers
6. Enrolling users and maintaining system security
7. Controlling and monintoring user access to database
8. monitoring and optimizing the performance of database
9. planning for backup and recovery of database information
10. maintaining archived data on tape
11. backing up and restoring the database
