A special product made in my region

Speaking of a special product made in my region [特产] , be it food or handcraft [手工制造] , the item that beats all other candidates [竞选或求职竞选人] and jumps first to my mind first is BBQ [野外烧烤] pork [肉] . It is a bit strange right?

But BBQ pork is one of my favorite meat products. I like the taste of it and the texture [n.质地; 手感; 口感] of it. The best kind of BBQ pork, as you will be told by anyone living in HK or GD, Is the one that has a perfect combination of the fat part and the lean [ v.倾斜，倚靠 adj.瘦的，贫乏的 n.倾斜，瘦肉] part. The fat part gives you the right amount of grease [n.适量的油脂 v.涂油脂于] and the right part of aroma [əˈrəʊmə] n.芳香，香味. And the lean part gives it a bit more chewiness (chew [tʃuː] v.n.咀嚼) . When you eat it, you can really feel a heavenly taste of meat coming from the pork. Usually BBQ pork is BBQed, so it may be grilled [ɡrɪld] v.(在高温下方或上方) 烧烤 . And usually when people make it in GD, they will add some honey [ˈhʌni] n.蜂蜜 v.给…加蜜 or some other sweet taste to it. And also because meat itself is savory [ˈseɪvəri] adj. 令人愉快的; 体面的; 名声好的; 好吃的; n.(饭前或饭后有助胃纳的) 美味小盘菜肴 , so you have a marvelous [ˈmɑːvələs] adj.不可思议的，非凡的 blending [blend] v.n 使混合,掺和;混合物 of sweetness and saltiness (salt 盐) , which I think is really delicious and mouth-watering ***[流口水]***. I know some people don’t like it, because they feel that meat is supposed to be savory so they find the sweet taste quite strange. But to people in GD and some people in SH area, they will also find it a very acceptable and common taste to their daily dishes.

The reason why people love it is that it goes so well with (go well with:协调，和…很相配 ) rice and basically all kinds of dishes [碟,盘,一道菜] . I know some people in HK that only serve the very simple BBQ pork and rice, and yet it is still very popular. Sometimes they have fried eggs, sometimes they don’t. But it is still very popular and people will just flock n.群 v.聚集，成群而行 to (flock to:涌向) those restaurants to try their BBQ pork. I guess the simplicity and versatility n.技术全面,用途广泛,多才多艺 make it very popular in HK and the greater GD region.
