I started to read the article on big fish-small pond and find that it is true in some cases. But more importantly, it is a crucial point for one to realize what he really wants. If one want to earn a huge amount of money in a relatively stable or more predictable way, being a small fish in a big pond is definitely going to be more attractive. Even though the big pond is more competitive, it usually offers more opportunities and money.

But, I am definitely not a small fish in a big pond. It is indeed hard to get to a high position and beat some else for a long time. Moreover, I don't think it easy to be a big fish in a small pond either. Today many small ponds are already taken by both small fish and large fish. Without competitive skills, inventions, or connections, it is very likely that a big fish trying to take a small pond will fail. One can make a choice between owning a small pond and enjoy the life in a quite peaceful way, or one can also make it a more challenging task. One who goes with the first option is sometimes recognized as unrealistic. And actually, many people choose to live in that way. I prefer a more risky way and will focus on expanding a small pond once I am in. When I successfully become the leader of the small pond, it is time for the pond to develop into a larger one. And as far as I am concerned, this is a solution for me.
