Not until recently did I find a hundred million dollars Patek Philippe. It is so expensive that the tag refreshes my stereotype on this brand. I used to assume that the most luxury price for a Patek Philippe watch is 30 million dollars. I felt astonished when I heard the price for the first time. However, I found it reasonable as I dived into the watch market. Fascinated by watches since I was twelve, I studied watches with various functions as well as their brands. I can identify watches with brands easily.
My favorite watch is a 2011 limited edition Panerai. I met it on a Hong Kong website and it cost as much as 150 thousand HKD. I cannot afford it, of course. It is a pretty good price though. The panels for Panerai are usually large for the brand's origin was for military use in Italian armies. They were diving watches and now Panerai successfully transformed into a commercial brand. Surprisingly, I rarely see any Panerai with Tourbillon. With addition of this "simple" function, the price of a watch can double. This fancy name is used to describe a mechanism that can cancel out the effect from gravity endured by the watches therefore acquire a better accuracy. Breguet, a brand that invented this technology, is really good.
I would like to have my own watch brand after 50s. Perhaps I can live in a town in Geneva and study the mechanical parts of a sophisticated watch.
