Hello boys and girls,the topic of our group presentation is yin and yang in the forbidden city.

We are gonna to introduce from the following three sections.

I’m 是Yu诶 .What I will introduce is The origin and ideas of Yin and Yang.

Fristly, I want to introduce the origin of the Yin and Yang.

In Ancient Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is a concept of dualism（二元论），describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces
may actually be complementary，interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world，and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another.
在古代中国哲学中，阴阳是一种二元论的概念，
它描述了在自然世界中，看似相反的或相反的力量
可能实际上是互补的，相互联系的，相互依存的，
使彼此相互关联。

In Chinese cosmology, the universe creates itself out of a primary chaos of material energy, organized into the cycles of Yin and Yang and formed into objects and lives.
Yin is the receptive and Yang the active principle.
在中国宇宙学中，宇宙是从物质能量的主要混乱中创造出来的，
并组织成阴和阳的循环，并形成物体和生命。
阴是接受的，阳是活动的原则。

You might have seen this symbol Bagua(八卦) ,which comes from Taoism（道教）, a religion born in China.

Bagua are eight symbols used in Taoism to represent the fundamental principles of reality，seen as a range of eight interrelated concepts. Each consists of three lines，each line either “broken” or “unbroken”, respectively representing yin or yang.
八卦是道教用来代表现实的基本原则的八个符号，
被视为一系列相互关联的八个概念。
每条线由三条线组成，每条线要么是“断的”，要么是“未断的”，分别代表阴或阳。

阴阳is closely related to another key concept in chinese phylosophy, Tai Chi.

At the beginning of the world, everything is chaos, it is Limitless;
When Yin and Yang are combined, the formation of yin and yang into all things is Tai Chi,
which is a process from 0 to 1.
天地初开，一切皆为混沌，是为无极；
阴阳交合，阴阳二气生成万物是为太极；
这是一个从0到1的过程

And then the Eight Trigrams

The two forms produce four phenomena,named lesser yin,great yin,lesser yang,great yang.
The four phenomena act on the Eight Trigrams.
两仪生四象，即少阴，太阴，少阳，太阳。
四象演八卦。

Yin and Yang are the driving force behind the birth, development, maturity, decline and death of various things.
On the top of that,they are also the core of laying the foundation for the logical thinking of the elements of Chinese civilization.
These two basic elements have always passed through our traditional architectural forms.
阴阳是万物诞生、发展、成熟、衰亡的原动力。
在此之上，它们也是奠定中华文明要素逻辑思维基础的核心。
这两个基本元素一直贯穿于我们传统的建筑形式之中。
