Base Device Behavior (BDB) provides a consistent behavior forall nodes connecting to a ZigBee network, including a common set of mechanismsfor network commissioning. In short, it can be seen as an enhancement toEZ-Mode from ZigBee Home Automation.

BDB Commissioning Modes

Touchlink (Optional)

·        Proximity-basedcommissioning

·        Previously a part ofZigBee Light Link

Network Steering (Mandatory)

·        If device is alreadyon a network, open the network for joining (permit join)

·        Otherwise, if deviceis a ZED or ZR

·        Try to join anexisting network. If successful, open the network for joining

Network Formation (Mandatory for ZC, optional for ZR)

·        This method is invokedif the device did not find a suitable network to join

·        Create a new network:
