Problem 4 的困惑

昨天下午研究Problem 4 的1，今天下午研究了2。现在有点做不下去了，技术上还没遇到大问题。不懂的是题目的理解：

第一题里面的“Or maybe plot it?”，是选做吗？画不画图都可以？

第二题：

1、check digit到底是前面几个数之被10除的余数还是前面几个数之和加上check digit能被10整除？

题目里面写的是“A checksum digit is appended (after the 5 digit zip code or ZIP+4): it is computed by summing up the original digits mod 10.”而在POSTNET链接里面写的却是“The sum of the ZIP, ZIP+4, or ZIP+4+delivery point digits and the check digit, modulo 10, should be zero. Continuing with the example, (5+5+5+5+5+1+2+3+7+2) mod 10 = 0. ”

2、“Function to pad a number with leadings zeros (if necessary). ”

为什么要加零？难道给的数不是标准长度？

3、“Function to plot a half-height and full-height bar.”

为什么是and而不是or？打印一长一短干吗用？

4、“Function to parse the input string "08544-1234" into digits (or command line should be ZIP then +4 or just ZIP). ”

input string 与command line输入的不是一个意思？

"then +4 or just ZIP"什么意思？

 

唉，花费太多精力在题目理解上面了。该做晚饭了。饭后给老板写信咨询，还要跟家中老人视频。
