Hello guys! My name is Gale. Today, I'll start my blogging journey.
As a freshman student, I'm learning the C language from scratch. Because of this, I can record my progress at each stage by writing blogs that can prove my growth.
To set up a great environment, and my choice is the VS2022 compiler.
Here's a brief guide to help you set it up:
-
Download and Install Visual Studio 2022:
- Visit the official Microsoft Visual Studio website and download the latest version of Visual Studio 2022.
- Choose the appropriate version (Community, Professional, or Enterprise) based on your needs.
- Run the installer and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
-
Select Workloads:
- During the installation process, you'll be prompted to select workloads. Workloads are collections of components and settings for specific types of development.
- If you're planning to develop in C++, make sure to select the "Desktop development with C++" workload.
-
Customize Your Installation:
- You can also customize your installation by selecting individual components. For C++ development, you might want to include additional components like the C++ standard library, debugger, and profiling tools.
-
Install Additional Components (Optional):
- After the initial installation, you can install additional components or modify your installation through the Visual Studio Installer.
- For example, if you need support for a specific version of the C++ standard, you can install the corresponding compiler toolset.
-
Create a New Project:
- Open Visual Studio 2022.
- Choose "Create a new project" or "File" > "New" > "Project".
- Select the appropriate project template for your development needs (e.g., "C++ Console App" for a simple C++ console application).
-
Configure Your Project:
- In the project properties, you can configure various settings such as the compiler options, linker settings, and more.
- You can also set up debugging options, including the debugger to use and any additional debugging tools.
-
Start Coding:
- Once your project is set up, you can start coding in C++ using the VS2022 editor.
- Take advantage of the editor's features like IntelliSense, code snippets, and debugging tools to enhance your development experience.
Trying everthing new is a good start. I believe I can persist in learning and writing to go further and further.
