HowTo repair grub

 

My system is EL5

Get a booting error and here is only the booting message.

GRUB_

 

I guess the booting info is cracked. So, I need to repair the grub.

Down load fedora from http://fedoraproject.org/zh_CN/get-fedora

Get into http://www.pendrivelinux.com/

and read http://www.pendrivelinux.com/install-fedora-9-to-a-flash-drive-using-windows/

 

Download liveusb-creator from

https://fedorahosted.org/releases/l/i/liveusb-creator/liveusb-creator-3.8.7.zip

this is for windows.

 

Make live usb.

Boot from usb.

Don’t mount sda.

Enter command grub with su

Grub> root (hd0, 0)

Grub> setup (hd0)

Reboot your PC.
