Continuous-time and discrete-time signals
A signal if it is defined for all time t.
A signal if it is defined only at discrete instants of time.
Sampling: Continuous-time Sig
à
Discrete-time Sig
T is the gap.
Periodic and non-periodic signals
A periodic signal is a function of time that satisfies the condition:
x(t+T)=x(t) for all t.
Period:
A discrete Periodic signal is a function of time that satisfies the condition:
x[n+N]=x[n] for integer n.
Deterministic and random signals
A deterministic signal is a signal about which there is no uncertainty with respect to its value at any time.
A random signal is a signal about which there is uncertainty before it occurs.
Energy and power signals
The definition of Energy signals was based on the Energy flux density formula. This can be found on this page:

关于能量信号的定义方法是参考波的能流密度公式(即电磁波动强度公式)而建立的
