SUL(supplementary Uplink)

5G 载波属于高频段,相同距离下, 频率越高则衰减得越厉害,因而会存在5G 小区覆盖受限的问题。NR中最值得关注的就是UE 的上行覆盖问题。于是,就提出了 SUL 技术,通过在一个NR小区配置一个低频段的SUL载波来扩展实网中的上行覆盖范围。即SUL/NUL +DL。 如果 UE 不支持 SUL 或者不支持 NR 小区配置的 SUL 频段时,那 UE 只能在 NUL 载波上发起接入。
下面是spec中相关内容的介绍。

1.SUL 概述

SUL 与CA 上行不一样,CA 时 配置的UL cc可以同时传输,但SUL 中,只能在NUL 或者SUL 传输,不能在NUL和SUL 上同时传输;另外在SUL的框架下,UE驻留的cell上会配置 两个UL (SUL/NUL)和一个DL,因而,2个UL +一个DL的情况 对应的是一个小区; 网络侧要避免同一时刻,在SUL/NUL 上出现PUSCH/PUCCH overlap的情况; PUCCH 只能配置在SUL/NUL 两者之一 上(这里没有说PUSCH ,即PUSCH应该可以在NUL/SUL 上同时配置,但是同时间的UL 传输只能在两者之一进行; SUL/NUL都可以进行initial RA,这时候会配置对应的threshold用于RA carrier的确定。
