Something about SAS

In North America, SAS is widely used and paid well. SAS could be distinctively separated into two categories, IT and Analytics. For IT type job, only thing you do is to create a SAS application to help data and results delievery.

1. Entry Level IT type SAS programming job (SAS coding plus VB, HTML, JAVA, C++, Databases to support SAS applications such as SAS BI, SAS Intrnet) 45K to 55K USD
2. Entry level analytical type SAS programming (programming only, using SAS BASE and some STAT) 35K to 50K
3. Entry level analytical type SAS programming plus modeling and data analysis 50K to 60K USD (If you have a Master in Statistics and work for banking industry, you may get over 60K)
4. For higher level, for instance, a maket research analyst with strong background in Statistics and SAS experience can fetch you from 75K to 100K USD or higher.

An independent SAS programming consultant will charge at least 50 USD an hour for his consulting time.

In summary, I vote that the trend is BULL for SAS in China in the future.
