Watsing time/ To waste time
We use "waste" when talking about doing something for a certain period of time and not getting the result we wanted.
Example:

Spending time/ To spend time
Use "spend" whne you want to talk about what you like to do with your time. Unlike "waste", it doesn't have a negative meaning.
Example:
I like to spend time writing in my journal.
Taking Time/ To take time
Use "take" when talking about how much time is required to do something.
Examples:
It takes me about half an hour to get to work.
