I am a honest man. I like to trust people and treat them with all my heart. Meanwhile, I am expecting the same from them. As you know, my heart is always broken because of this. At first, it didn't touch me too much but just as bad lucks. However, recently, I got to think it over. Thereby, I found out that we, who want to be great managers, should play tricks.
The most important reason for this is we need to delivery expected results as a team. Therefore, we have to make sure everyone is producing expected results by resolving all the obstacles which are preventing them from. Therefore, we have to play tricks to balance the performance and the personal development.
The second important reason is that people don't know their talents and they are afraid to pursue them. We want the best from our best people. Hereby, we need to play tricks to let them enjoy the feelings of accomplishments. Usually, people will keep doing what they are doing the best once they get to know it.
The last but not the least, we need to play tricks to delivery the hard love. Some people are just not the good fits for the current positions. It's lucky that we have available positions to transfer them. However, it's usually not the case. At that point, we need to play tricks to let them feel good but quickly push them to find their best fits.
In a word, as a great manager, he/she must play tricks in order to achieve the balance of the best performance and the best personal development.
