Description :
I have an existing database called ABC, and I have a DB backup file (ABC_20140206.bak) of ABC a few months back.
Now, I need to restore the backup file to same SQL server for some data comparison.
How to restore the database without overwriting the existing one?

Steps to do :
1.In SQL Server Management Studio, right click the existing database and Rename ABC to ABC_Orig (to avoid overwriting)
(Without renaming the database, the existing database will be impacted although the new restoration is successful )
2.Then in SQL Server Management Studio, to restore the backup file, by allocating new database file name
3.Once restoration is successful, change back the rename the database name ABC_Orig back to ABC.
