托福写作2-large or small company employee

Some people prefer to work for a large company. Others prefer to work for a small company. Which doyou prefer?

Usespecific reasons and details to support your choice.

 

There are all types of job opportunities for people nowadays. Different people prefer to work for companies of different sizes[傅晓东1] . As for myself,[傅晓东2]  I prefer to work for a small company. It is true that working for a big company seems to others that I have a higher social status. However, working for a smaller one has some obvious advantages.[傅晓东3] 

 

First of all[傅晓东4] , working for a small company means usually the employee is provided the chance to have apanorama of the whole company. That means[傅晓东5]  I can learn how business is really done in a company and how does the company run. Learning the process is critical to me because I’ll develop enthusiasm toward the company and the role I’m playing in it. [傅晓东6] On the otherhand,[傅晓东7]  it is probable that workers in large companies cannot see the overall picture of the company. For example,[傅晓东8]  if I work for a multi-national enterprise and have a job as a sales person, I’d have a vague idea about what lies beneath the company’s changes and policies. And therefore I gradually lose enthusiasm in my work, which leads to the decline of work quality as well.

 

Secondly[傅晓东9] , small companies often provide employees with more chances to receive special training programs,or even enjoy promotions. Although small companies usually have fewer funds than their large counterparts, they have far less employees accordingly.[傅晓东10]  So there is still a higher possibility to obtain the training program that suits me most. Also[傅晓东11] , the same applies to the promotion. Since the boss pays attention to mainly several employees, I can better demonstrate my skills and abilities, and hopefully get a promotion.

 

Moreover[傅晓东12] , I enjoy the teamwork atmosphere, which can be found in small companies. If [傅晓东13] I work with someone with the same motivation, it will benefit both of us and the company as well. According to my personal experience[傅晓东14] , small group discussions tend to generate fresh and creative ideas, which are essential in most types of businesses.

 

To sum up[傅晓东15] , although large companies are alluring to many people, I prefer to work for smaller ones because of the atmosphere, the opportunity and the enthusiasm the work brings along.
