This brief tutorial is going to show students and new users how to install Notepad++ on Ubuntu 16.04 / 17.10 and 18.04 with the help of Snap.

To get started with instyalling this code editor, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Get Snap

If Snap isn’t available on your system, you will have to install it prior to install Notepad++… Snap is a powerful package management system for Linux users… it probably the best and easiest way to install packages on Linux machine, including Ubuntu.

To install Snap, run the commands below

sudo apt-get install snapd snapd-xdg-open

Step 2: Install Notepad++

Now that Snap is installed, run the commands below to install Notepad++ on Ubuntu…

To install Notepad++ run the commands below

sudo snap install notepad-plus-plus

When the package is installed, you should see a message that looks like the one below

notepad-plus-plus 7.5.6 from ‘mmtrt’ installed

After installing the package, run the commands below to install a mandetory plugin…

sudo snap connect notepad-plus-plus:process-control

And optional plugins below should probably be installed as well.

sudo snap connect notepad-plus-plus:removable-media
sudo snap connect notepad-plus-plus:hardware-observe
sudo snap connect notepad-plus-plus:cups-control

Next go to your Activities Overview and search for, then lauch Notepad++

决中文字体乱码显示

如果是通过应用商店安装的notepad++，安装完成之后，输入中文会显示“口口........”，实际上并不是缺少什么windows字库，而是刚安装好的notepad++默认字体是Courier New。在Ubuntu中这个字体不支持中文。我们只需要换成其他的字体即可。我自己试了一下，"AR PL UKai CN"这个字体是可以支持中文的。

没改字体前

具体设置：

setting——>style configurator——>font style——>fontname：选择AR PL UKai CN——>enable global font

需要强调一点，这种做法只能改变输入的中文能够正常显示，但并不会改变整个软件都能正常显示中文

如果是用wine安装的，也可以采用上面方法，但想要彻底解决中文乱码，需要升级wine

字体倒了的问题

修改notepad++，汉字突然横过来了，如图，

百度了一下，原来是因为选择的字体“@微软雅黑”前面的@符号惹的祸，改成“微软雅黑”就没事了。
