- goal: Uninstalling/reinstalling the Applications Desktop Integrator (ADI) product to eliminate install corruption.
- fact: ADI - Applications Desktop Integrator
fix:
There may be times in which a complete uninstall/reinstall of ADI is required. Issues such as icons not appearing, random freezes when performing certain functions or .dll problems are all signs of a corrupted install. When all else fails a complete uninstall/reinstall of ADI may resolve the issue.
There are two levels of uninstalling given here, one fairly light, the other more in depth which involves actually deleting the Windows Registry
keys created by ADI.
ADI basic uninstall:
1. Reboot the PC
2. Close ALL programs that start on startup
3. Uninstall Excel-not necessary unless Excel problems are prevalent.
4. Uninstall ADI (with Oracle Installer)
5. Manually remove: <drive>:/ORACLE_HOME/GLDI90
6. Restart the PC
7. Close ALL programs that start on startup
8. Reinstall Excel (if uninstalled)
9. Reinstall ADI (using the Oracle Installer)
10. Restart the PC
11. Close ALL programs that start on startup
12. Run ADI again
The following steps are for a more in-depth uninstall, which actually involves
deleting the GLDI/ADI keys in the Windows Registry.
Use caution when using these steps. When dealing with the Windows Registry it is
recommended to create a complete backup of the PC¿s data. Accidentally removing the wrong keys in the Windows Registry can cause the PC to fail to boot ADI Complete uninstall
