Overview
Visual Task Boards (VTB) transform the navigation of lists and forms into an interactive graphical experience. Visual Task Boards allow you to view and update multiple task records, which appear as cards that can be moved between lanes.
Board Structure
A. Lane - Organizes cards on a board into a vertical group. You can reorder lanes by using the left and right arrows at the bottom of each lane.
B. Card - Represents an individual task.
C. Quick panel - Displays labels and users associated with the board. You can use the quick panel to filter cards or to quickly label or assign tasks.
D. VTB flyout - Displays tabs for recent card changes, board member administration, and label administration.
Freeform Boards
A. Freeform boards - Display any kind of task record, including personal tasks. Members of freeform boards can add and remove task cards and lanes.
B. Create freeform board - You can create a new freeform board in the My Task Boards page. Freeform boards are generated with the default lanes To do, Doing, and Done, without any preexisting cards.
Flexible Boards
A. Flexible boards - Based off a list query. Flexible boards display tasks that match the configured filter against a particular table. Members of flexible boards can add task cards, which are removed automatically when the tasks no longer match the filter conditions. Members can define custom lanes, similar to a freeform board. Any task cards you add to the board become records on the associated table.
B. Create a flexible board - You can create a flexible board by selecting Show Visual Task Board in the list column menu for a field that is not a reference or choice field. The default lanes are To do, Doing, and Done. Task cards are automatically generated based on the list query.
Guided Boards
A. Guided boards - Based off a list query. Guided boards display tasks that match the configured filter against a particular table, like flexible boards. Members of guided boards can add task cards, which are removed automatically when the tasks no longer match the filter conditions. Guided board lanes correspond to field values and cannot be edited.
B. Create a flexible board - You can create a flexible board by selecting Show Visual Task Board in the list column menu for a reference or choice field. Each lane in a guided board represents one possible value for that column. Task cards are automatically generated based on the list query. Any task cards you add to the board become records on the associated table.
