Air combat involves both technology and its influence. The technology used limits the actions that the Air Force may take, both authorizing and limiting the choices of use by the troops. Given this, emerging major technologies always attract great interest from people, and today's focus is on artificial intelligence (AI).
This article only discusses the role of AI in decision-making, especially in air combat. This article first discusses this technology, then points out the combat structure, and finally considers three alternative methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning assisted air combat decision-making.
Modern artificial intelligence has developed to meet the needs of the business sector, especially consumers. A key advancement is that low-cost graphics processing units (GPUs) have become easier to obtain, primarily to meet the needs of video games. With its large-scale parallel processing, GPU can easily run machine learning software. Machine learning is an older concept, but it requires a combination of GPUs and access to "big data" libraries to make it practical and affordable on a large scale.
