Buying clothes

词汇语法及实用表达

  1. try them on: phr.试穿;
// pants试穿复数!!👖
There's two legs, right. So it is a pair of pants and if you want to try those pants on,
if you want to go into the change room and put them on, we have to say "try them on," not "try on them."
  1. tons of styles: phr.很多款式;
// 学到新表达方式啦😆~~
when I was younger, I really liked the way that clothes fit.
  1. zipper: n.拉链;zipzip~
  2. material: n.材料,材质;
  3. fabric: n.布,组织,建筑物;(cotton棉花;polyester聚酯;wool羊毛;)
  4. in the back: phr.在后面;
  5. a nice fresh pair of pants: 新裤子;
  6. salesperson: n.售货员;
  7. I kicked off that dialogue: 拉开对话的序幕;
// 还可以这样用😱~~
It looks like our salesperson kicked off that dialogue today, right, with the standard..."Hi there, can I help you?".
  1. looking at: 寻找(已找到);
// 关于looking at的英文
Okay, so speaking of very typical, speaking of being very standard, this is a very typical standard response.Right, so here we see Judy say "I was ==looking at== this pair of pants," so she probably had a pair of pants in her hands or there was one that she was looking at. But she could also say "I was ==looking for==..."Yes, so basically, when the salesperson comes to you in the store, and you want to buy something, and you can't quite find it yet or the one that you really want, you might say, "I am looking for..."Right, right. So like always, you can say "I am looking." "I was looking" just sound a little bit more polite.

Tips for shopping
购物小贴士
Don’t just get in the car and point it in the direction of your favorite shopping destination! Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with these shopping strategies.
不要开车就直奔购物目的地的方向!花点时间了解一下这些购物策略。

  1. Shop with a list
//使用清单购物
Many people overspend or buy things they don't want and they don't need.
So, before you set off on your shopping trip, review what you already have, and then write a list of the things you need.
//许多人会过度消费或者购买他们不想要的、不需要的东西。所以,在开始你的购物之旅前,回顾一下你已经有的东西,然后写一个清单,列出你需要的东西。
  1. Set a budget
//设定一个预算
You need to set a ballpark figure on what you are going to spend on this trip, what is affordable for you to spend and what makes sense for you to spend on this shopping trip.
//你需要设定一个大概的数字,你将在这趟行程中花费多少,花多少钱对你来说是能接受的,这趟购物之旅花多少钱对你来说是有意义的。
  1. Don’t buy just because it’s on sale
// 不要因为打折就购买
Remember that a bargain is not a bargain if it doesn't fit correctly, or you don't love it. Only buy items on sale when it's something that is on your list and is within your budget.
//记住,如果不合适,或者你不喜欢,买便宜货就不是省钱。当商品在你的清单中并且在预算范围内时,再购买特价商品。
