Exporting images from Figma is a simple process. Here are the steps you need to follow:
- Select the Image or Frame: You first need to select the image or frame you want to export.
- Open the Export Panel: With the image or frame selected, you will need to open the export panel. You can do this by going to the right-hand panel in Figma and selecting the ‘Export’ option. If you don’t see this, ensure you have an object selected, as the Export option is context-sensitive.
- Set the Image Settings: In the Export panel, you can set your preferences for the exported image. This includes setting the format (e.g., JPEG, PNG, SVG, or PDF), the size, and any suffixes. For example, if you’re creating assets for an iOS app, you might need to export images at multiple scales: @1x, @2x, and @3x.
- Export the Image: Once you’ve set your export settings, click on the ‘+ Export’ button. Figma will then create a new export setting based on your inputs. Click the ‘Export [name]’ button (where [name] is the name of your selected layer) that appears next to the ‘+ Export’ button. Figma will then open a new window for you to choose where you want to save the file.
- Save the File: Choose the destination where you want to save the file on your computer and click ‘Save’.
Your image should now be exported! Just navigate to the location where you saved the file to access it.
