I seldom received money as a present, in fact, only one time. Three years ago, when I received the admission letter from university, my parents decide to gave me a gift as reward. However, it was hard for them to decided which gift is suitable for me. When I was a child, they always gave me toys as birthday gifts. In the period of middle school, clothes and books were normal gifts. But these gifts seemed not to be suitable for me, a freshman. in the end, my parents decided to give me money as a gift. They thought it is a time when I need to learn how to manage money. I was amazing at the beginning. Then, I realized it was a choice and a challenge for me. I chose to buy a laptop and a camera because a laptop was necessary for my college study and a camera allowed to record the happiness in daily life. in fact, I do not hold the view that giving money as a birthday present is a good idea. However, as for students who will leave home to other city, it a great chance for them to learn how to live independently.
