Abstract

1) Terms of spatial order and temporal sequence are same (e.g. '前’) in Chinese but different (e.g. 'in front of' vs 'before') in English.

2) Study on Chinese-English bilinguals showed that early sensorimotor simulation plays a role in temporal sequencing processing and The time–spatial relationship is asymmetric, in that space schema could be imported into temporal sequence processing but not vice versa.

3) These findings support the weak view of the Metaphoric Mapping Theory (见Day24文献).
