Anyone who can't wait for eTV to arrive, Will have this to look forward to instead... Live TV with Pimpstreamer!
Requirements :
* VLC Media player for Windows
* Wireless Router
* Pimpstreamer
If your sure you going to understand all this, Then continue.. If not then wait for eTV!
Here we go...
1. Download Pimpstreamer
2. Select PiMPStreamer.ini then change the value of
ninfinitestreams=0
to ninfinitestreams=1
Save, Then load PiMPStreamer, Then close it again.
Go back to the INI, and you will see a newline at the end of the ini saying this : infinitestream_1=
Change it to this :
infinitestream_1=F:\MyVideos\stream.mpg
Now create a folder for example F:\MyVideos\, This is where your Live TV stream is going to be placed.
Load up VLC and goto File> Wizard > Transcode/Save to file > Select Stream Directshow > Press OK > Next > Tick Transcode Audio and Video and select MPEG1 Bitrate 256k , Audio 192k > Next > Select MPEG 1 > Save to F:\MyVideos\stream.mpg > Press Finsh
Phew.. That was some work.. Lol, Thats the hard part done.
Now press Play on VLC and point PiMPStreamer to F:/MyVideos/Stream.mpg
