1.Suddently it‘s up to you to attend classes，handle your money ，wash your clothes ，sit for exams，。。。

：it's up to sb 是习惯用语，由。。。。决定，是。。。的责任

 Struggling with new-found independence and responsibility is also expected。

 Enjoying college life is a combination of many elements。。。

以上三者都以动名词（短语）做主语，谓语动词均用is 。

动名词作主语的用法：

            1）.经常性，习惯性的动作，也可表示具体的动作。

                    Seeing is believing：眼见为实

                    Helping her is my duty ：

                    Talking mends no holes：空谈无济于事

            2）动名词做主语时，常用先行词it 作形式主语，而把真正主语动名词置于句末：

                    It is useless（no use ，no good ，no harm ，etc。）doing 。。做。。。是无用（无益，没有好处，无害）的；

                      It is a waste of time doing 。。。

                例：It's no use crying over split milk:覆水难收
