Today’s topic: Advertising
Sample answer following the above 3 steps, try to make your answer easily to be understood and logically organized.
Question 1: How do you feel about the amount of advertising on television? 你对电视广告的数量感觉如何?
Sample Answer:
I believe that nowadays there’s too much advertising on television, because if you’re watching a movie or even a TV series, you might get an advertising interruption every 10 to 15 minutes, which kind of steals the fun you can have watched that movie, because really cuts it, usually at very specific moments when movie gets all your attention, then cuts, and the advertisements get all your attention. So, yeah, definitely, on our television programme, it’s way too much. When I was in Norway, I realised that their advertisements are, I think, the best way to do it. It’s 30 seconds and you have three images, non-moving images. So that’s their way of doing advertisement. I think that’s good.

Question 2: In what ways has television advertising changed in the last ten years? 电视广告在过去十年中以何种方式发生了变化?
Sample Answer:
I think there’s advertisement for almost everything now. Whereas, I think it just followed the changes in society. So there’s a lot more advertising about electronic devices and, I don’t know, insurance policies, car policies, whatever, just following the trend that society is following.

Sample Answer:
I think it depends heavily on who we’re talking about, but most people actually feel that they might need what’s advertised. So advertisements use different techniques to try to touch more people. If there’s a celebrity using that product, they will feel like I should do that as well, or just, you know, there’s a discount or whatever, they will go for it. So I think that’s the way it is right now, and that’s how they actually manage to affect all those people.
