Canyoning is a team activity and requires good communication between team members.

Due to the nature of the environment in which we practice canyoning, it can often become difficult to communicate using our voices. The environment can be very noisy, often we may be communicating over large distances, or even out of sight of each other.

The use of visual signals (hand signals) and sound signals (whistle blows) are often the most effective way to communicate when vocal communication is not possible.
