Dear colleagues,
I am writing to you in support of Mr, Wei Yan and his desire to entry into [UniversityNamel for the Agricultural Economics program. Though many students request me towrite recommendation letter on their behalf, I prefer to recommend students whom Ifeel are well-suited for the program of their choices. Mr, Wei is one of those studentsand therefore, I highly recommend that he be given the opportunity to attend your university.
As the Professor of Department of Ecology of Agricultural College at ShenyangAgricultural University, I work with many students who have substantial knowledge olEcology. Mr. Wei has consistently shown such a strong desire to learn AgriculturalEconomics that I simply could not turn down his request for recommendation.
Although Wei Yan was a student majoring in Ecology, he had a keen interest inAgricultural Economics, out of which he embraced an opportunity to take the internshipof Agricultural Economics in the Wafangdian City of Dalian and Mt.Laotudingzi inLiaoning Province. During the practice, he actively collected data about the situation inthe local agricultural economic development, communicated with the principal of localagricultural economic zone, and then recorded the updated information about theeconomic benefit of agricultural development. Among the 15-member internship team.Wei Yan submitted the most detailed and comprehensive report, which contained thestatistics of various data, record ofup-to-date information as well as his own viewpointregarding sustainable economic development of local agriculture.
Besides, in order to master more materials about the agricultural economic zone, WeiYan once followed graduate students of his major and conducted an in-depthinvestigation in mountain areas of Yunnan Province. Through joint efforts, theygathered abundant data and regional satellite date pictures for the purpose of analysisand study. Under the supervision of advisor and graduates, he finally excellentlyaccomplished the graduate paper The Relationship between Ecosystem Services andElevation, Population in Longitudinal Range-Gorge Region in Yunnan Province, whichwon him unanimous appreciation of the professional supervisors.
Furthermore, as an outstanding student in the professional course, Wei Yan haspossessed stronger practical ability than other students. During his junior and senioryears, he assisted the graduates and supervisor in conducting relevant course researchon the ecologic competition among soybean, corn and ambrosia, with an aim to dig intothe damage of Ambrosia trifida L. on dry field crop. The experiment was a difficultchallenge for the students to apply theory into practice. Nevertheless, bringing the teamspirit into full play, he and other students well coordinated every work including sowingand cultivation of seedlings at the beginning, regular sampling, monitoring andweighing in the field, and data summarization and paper writing at last. Despite thescorching sun, he kept doing farm work from morning till night for several consecutivedays, taking samples in the field, sorting samples for weighing and collecting date.Ultimately, through their joint efforts and advisor's instruction, he completed andpublished the paper Efect ofAmbrosia trifida L. Competition on the Sovbean Growthand Development with the Application of Herbicides.
I believe Wei Yan is destined to be an outstanding student in Agricultural Economics.and therefore is an excellent candidate for your program. I highly recommend that youconsider his application, as he will be a great asset to your program. Through the studyof your program, I believe you will find him a student with strong capability, so yourfavorable consideration of his application will be highly appreciate. In case of anyfurther information about Wei Yan, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely yours,
