CVE(Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) is published by MITRE Corporation in the United States. MITRE maintains the CVE list and coordinates with global vulnerability reports to ensure the assignment and release of CVE numbers.

Additionally, the CVE project is supported and overseen by the Cybersecurity and Infrastrature Security Agency(CISA), which is part of U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The goal is to help organizations identify and address cybersecurity vulnerability. CVE numbers are typically assigned through multiple CVE numbering Authorties(CNAs), which are responsible for discovering and reporting vulnerabilities within their respective domians
