Description

Yahoo Search Beijing team is working on query understanding, rewriting and classification, and has been playing critical role in search result page presentation and relevance improvement, for Yahoo Web & vertical searches, E-Commerce, and communication products. The team work directly with US, Taipei and India peers from the beginning of Beijing R&D center, and has developed good depth in research and development. We are building the next generation natural language processing platform and eager to welcome experienced talents to join and grow with us.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement data mining algorithms on large scale data sources.

2. Conduct experiments on natural language text parsing and implement 

3. Leading NLP or query processing topic research and discussion.

Skill requirements:

Strong algorithm foundation, proficient in C++ and 1 or more scripting language (python/shell/perl) with excellent hands-on skill.

2-4 years of research and development experience on search engine, machine translation or speech related industry.

IR / NLP / Statistical Machine Learning background in either academic or industry is preferred.

Understand large scale data processing framework and prefer to have data mining practice on large data set.

Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, self-motivated.

Master or PhD degree in computer science, computational linguistic or related area.

Fluent English writing and speaking capability, knowing 1 or more languages other than Chinese and English is a plus.
