Now you can start building a better routine and a more fulfilling life!
Finish: Next steps
Alright, congratulations! You've made it to the end of this guide and this far through your own journey. So what are the next steps when it comes to building better routines? Contrary to popular belief, establishing the kinds of routines that will serve you doesn't come around thanks to willpower or stretching the hours and the day.
The biggest stage ahead of you is just a powerful inquiry process. You'll get to know yourself better as you take a long introspective look at how you want to fill your time. You might want to ask yourself, what routines am I already implementing? Do these rhythms and rituals currently serve me? And with the help of bullet journaling and mind mapping, you can begin to build a routine inventory. List all the things you're currently doing, all the things you should be doing, and all the things you want to be doing.
Getting clear about your wants and acknowledging your current patterns of behavior is one of the most important stages in this reset. Finally, you want to set yourself up for success, plan and set intentions for the morning to come. What is one thing you'd like to experience tomorrow? How can you make sure that that happens? Whether it's laying out your writing journal the night before or going ahead and booking that exercise class and doing something nourishing for your future self.
It's important to remember that we have a limit of hours in the day and a limit of days on this earth. Reflecting on the kinds of rituals and experiences that are important to you as Brooke McAlary advocates, is the difference between a life lived in trenth and one with profound meaning, direction, and intention.
