The impingement dynamics of the 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate ([Emim]Ac) ionic liquid (IL) droplets on mildly heated solid wall were investigated. Comparison of the impingement dynamics of water, 60 wt% IL aqueous solution, and pure IL droplets were made, and the spreading characteristics of the 60 wt% IL aqueous solution droplets under different impact velocities and surface temperatures were discussed. A constant contact radius with a sharp decrease subsequently and a linearly decreasing residual volume were observed for water droplet. By contrast, a gradually increased spreading factor was observed for the pure IL and 60 wt% IL aqueous solution droplets, and the residual volume stays the same and goes through a polynomially decreasing for the pure IL and 60 wt% IL aqueous solution droplets, respectively.翻译
