Steps:
- Download and install VMware Workstation Player.
- Download the Ubuntu ISO from ubuntu.com.
- Open VMware and create a new virtual machine.
- Select the Ubuntu ISO as the installation media.
- Allocate resources (CPU, RAM) for the VM.
- Start the VM and follow the installation prompts.
2. Erase Windows for a Clean Installation
Steps:
- Backup Data: Ensure important files are backed up.
- Create Bootable USB:
rufus /path/to/ubuntu.iso
- Boot from USB:Restart and enter BIOS, set USB as boot device.
- Install Ubuntu:Choose "Erase disk and install Ubuntu" during setup.
3. Set Up a Dual Boot System
Steps:
- Backup Data: Backup important files.
- Create Space for Ubuntu:Open Disk Management and shrink the Windows partition.
- Create Bootable USB:
rufus /path/to/ubuntu.iso
- Boot from USB:Restart and enter BIOS, set USB as boot device.
