1 would you like to tell me something about yourself?

  Ok, no problem .good afternoon, lady and gentleman. It is a great honor for me to be here to present myself. My name is tianweiyi, and I am a candidate for the position of the logistic specialist.

In 2009 , I graduated from Nanjing university of finance and economics, and my major is logistic management. My first job is a stoke controller of the plants and equipments which imported from abroad.

A few months ago , I discharged from my first job, and went to shanghai to look for more good opportunities, and now I am in an international logistic company, which major business is freight forwarding.

I am a man who have a very clearly occupational career development planning, and my career’s objective is to be a senior logistic management specialist in manufacturing industry.

I have good theory and practice experience in logistic management, including of storage, purchasing, international logistic , and abundant knowledge in the customs affairs and foreign trade .

Besides that, my business English is excellent. In May of 2010, I took part in the examination of business English certificate which sponsored by the British Cambridge University.

In 2009, I got my bachelor of logistic management, that means I have professional theory in logistic. And two years’ working experience in logistic management also ensure that I am right for this position. Besides that, my English can also tap this positIon.

 

6 can you give me the highlights of you resume?

Firstly, my working experience in these two years, my main job content. Secondly, my IT skills, I am good at oracle  ERP operation and office application. Last one, I took BEC examination in May this year. That means my business English is good.

 

7why did you choose your major?

Logistic is a new sector which can bring huge profits for an enterprise, and it was

 very popular in 2004-2005, and I took part in the college entrance examination in 2005, so I chose my major, logistic.

 

8what are your short and long term goals?

My long term goals is to be a senior logistic management specialist. And now my mission is to find a job which can open the door for my career development.

I have lots of interests. Singing songs with my friends, playing billiards, watching films, reading news about economics and so on.(say more)

Hardworking, persist-studying, communicative one weakness is impatient.

 

12 what motivates you to succeed?

The duty I owed to my parents. The thinking of life’s destination, the pursuing of better quality life.

 

13 what qualities do you think are the most important factors to be successful?

Good occupational ethics, excellent career skills,  good society connection. Good relationships with colleagues,  A never giving-up attitude, healthy life hobbies, and so on.

 

14what previous experience has helped you develop these qualities?

When I got my first job, I had nearly could not pass the probation period. Once a time , I opened my direct supervisor’s e-mail, and found an letter that about dismiss me from the company. I was so surprised and did not know why they want to do this. After I read this e-mail’s content, I got two points. First. I did not perform actively, second, I did not like to communicate with colleagues.

During the period of October 2008 to 2009, the world was suffering from the worldwide economics decreasing. So it was so difficult to find a job for the graduates. After careful thinking, I went to the office of the manager ,and beg him to give me a chance to correct my mistake.

The manager allowed me to correct in one month, so I tried all the methods I could think about to change the image that I had made on the manager, luckily, after one month past, the manager wrote the comment on my practice report “welcome to get your job at our department.”

This experience gives me an illumination for what should I do to treat my job, it was a precious experience.

 

15 can you give me an example of teamwork and leadership?

I would like to tell a story about the wolves and antelopes. When the wolves are hunting an antelope, theirs’ performance is a teamwork. Firstly, they have a share objective---killing the antelope, and eating its meats. Secondly, they coordinate with each other, they hunt the antelope form different directions, and take different work. Thirdly, they communicate with each other, they shout, transmit the information with the purpose to kill the antelope.

In all of these activities, the head of the wolves act as the leader and control overall situation. And of course, once an antelope has been killed, the head of the wolves eat the meats firstly.

 

16 what was your great challenge, and how did you overcome them?

When I got my first job, I had hardly pass the probation period. My supervisor asked me to dismiss from the job. I was shocked.

The first thing I did is to figure out what the reasons were that they want me be out. After that, I considered about my situation and the circumstance of economics at that time, the cost I would pay if I really dismissed from the job.

So I made a decision, beg for the manager’s permission, allowing me to correct  the mistakes that I had made. I got one month to rebuild the image of me in the supervisors’ eyes, in this month, I tried all the methods I could figure out to change the negative image to positive one.

After one month past,  I got the manager’s comments on my report, “welcome back to get your job in our department”.

 

17 why should I hire you from all of these candidates?

 That is because I am the best choice candidate for this position, and I get adequate confidence to accomplish the mission that the supervisors ask me to do.

 In a long period, I am a person who never stop hardworking and struggling . Once I climbed on one summit. I would climb on another higher summit. so I do not think I have made great accomplishment. The great accomplishment is under my feet.

 

19 have you been asked to do something unethical? If yes, how did you handle it?

 In my opinion, occupational ethic is the most important thing to an employee’s career development. if we did something unethical, that would end our career development life .and our career reputation will also be damaged . so, if somebody ask me to do something unethical ,of course, I will refuse him immediately.

 

20 what do you do if you totally disagree with a request made by your manager?

Firstly, communication with the manager is very important. I will tell him my opinion and reasons. If the communication does not make any effect. I will do what the manger ask me to do. But, if the situation is very important and serious, I would like to communicate with the manager’s supervisor.

 

21 when in a group setting, what is your typical role ?

I would like to act as the role of coordinator and communicator. As you know, the conflict in a group is always existing. And if there is nobody come out to stop and regulate the conflict, the group will be divided, even cracked.

 

22 how do you motivate a team to succeed?

Firstly, I will give the team a clearly objective that will bring great benefits to all team members. Secondly, I will give different work to different member of our team, which can use their ability and make them be more talent and competitive. At last, I will control and coordinate the team to make sure that the team is growing follow a correct direction.

 

23  Have you been in team situations where not everyone carried their fair share of the workload? If so , how did you handle the situation?

 

Yes. I have been in such a situation. I think we should arrange different work to different people according to their ability and experience. And insure that everybody of the team can exert their ability as much as possible. Someone may take the most important mission, and someone will take an usual mission.  But the most important thing is to make sure that everybody benefit as what he has contributed to our team. That is the spirit of fair and justice.

 

24how do you prioritize when you are given too many tasks to accomplish?

The tasks can be divided into urgent tasks and un-urgent tasks. Besides that, the tasks also can be divided into important tasks and unimportant tasks. We should concentrate on the urgent and important tasks and then we will be able to better organized and efficient.

 

25 why are manhole covers round?

I think that the round manhole cover can be easily transported. We can easily transport them by roll them on the ground ,not to use too much strength.

 

26 tell me about a goal you set for yourself and how you accomplish it?

My occupational objective is to be a senior logistic management specialist in manufacturing industry. What I should do now is to find a position which can open the door of my career development. once I get in this position. I will persist studying and hardworking to enhance myself, and then let me be close to my objective.

 

27 do you typically achieve what you set out to do?

In most situations, I can achieve what I set out to do, because I never set a goal that is too high for me to touch. I would like to persist after reasonable goals, and then I can get improved one step after another.

 

28what de-motivates or discourages you?

If I make great efforts and put lots of time ,energy, money on something, and hope all the efforts I have made can bring me a great result.  But, unfortunately, I does not get what I want to get. It will be a huge beat for me .maybe it will take a long time to get relieved.

 

29do you work better in teams or by yourself?

I think I can work efficient in a team circumstance. Once I get some problems that I can’t solve, I can get help from other team members. And I can study lots of knowledge and ability from other team members, so that i will get improved quickly .

 

30 how important to you is a positive attitude ?

The positive attitude to my life, my work can bring me lots of benefits. With a positive attitude, I work happily and enjoy the interests of life. Besides that, It will be much easier for me to deal with difficult circumstance. With a positive attitude. That is the key point.

 

31what is your definition of success?

Maybe , to lots of people, success means wealth, position, and reputation. Means cars, girls, houses, luxurious lives. But to me success means to finish the mission of my life, to make contributions to the society.

 

32What are your biggest disappointment in your college life?

The college life means that we have adequate time for us to dominate. We should utilize this period as much as possible to read good books, learn knowledge, attend society activities , with the purpose to improve myself as soon as possible. However, I did not recognize this point. When I am now in working, I want to pile out more time for studying ,but I find that time means the most precious to me .

 

34 tell me the most difficult decision you have had to make .

My brother borrowed two thousand RMB from me last year. Half of a year passed, he did not announce to pay back any fund to me. But I really need money to use. So it is so difficult for me to decide if I should ask money from him, because he is my brother. At last ,I made my decision, asking him to pay my money back. That is very difficult to choose ,because it hurts the feeling emotion between me with my brother.

 

35what is your ideal job?

Firstly ,the job must can bring me with a great prospect. Secondly, the job can exert my ability and knowledge as much as possible. The last, it can provide me with good compensation and benefits.
