Overview
Connect Chat is a real-time messaging feature that connects you to your coworkers, bypassing email and static documents. Learn how to use it like a pro.
Connect Chat Interface
A. Toggle Connect sidebar - Toggle the Connect sidebar to show or hide your conversation list.
B. Conversation filter - Search within conversations you belong to. Results include conversations you have closed.
C. Create a new conversation - Start a new conversation with one or more people.
D. Chat mini window - View your conversation in a chat window on top of the standard interface.
E. Open full-screen view - Open the full-screen view of Connect Chat in a new tab, which shows all your conversations in one place and provides additional tools to manage notifications and view key information from conversations.
F. Close Connect sidebar - Hide the Connect sidebar.
Managing Connect Notifications
- Click the gear icon in the banner frame to open the System Settings window.
- In the Notifications tab, enable or disable mobile, desktop, email, and audio notifications for all your Connect conversations. You can manage your notification preferences for specific conversations later.
Chat Mini Window
A. Add user - Add a user to the conversation. This option is available for group and record conversations only.
B. View document - View the record associated with the conversation. This option is available for record conversations only.
C. New window - Open the conversation in the full-screen view of Connect Chat.
D. Collapse/Expand conversation - Hide or show the conversation.
E. Close window - Close the chat window. The conversation remains in the Connect sidebar.
F. Attach file - Attach and send a file. You can also add an attachment by dragging and dropping it directly in the conversation. In Chrome browsers, you can paste an image in a conversation.
