比较变化

1，规则变化

①原级+er/est，short->shorter->shortest

②原级字尾有e+r/st，nice->nicer->nicest

③原级字尾为子音+y，去u+ier/iest，hot->hotter->hottest

*两音节以上的形容词，more/most+原级，beautiful->more beautiful->most beautiful

2，不规则变化

modern->moderner/more modern都可，bad/ill->worse->worst，good/well->better->best

many/much->more->most，little->less->least

far，farther->farthest(表距离)，further->furthest(表程度、数量、距离)

late，later->latest(表时间，最新的)，latter->last(表顺序)

old，older->oldest(表年纪，新旧)，elder->eldest(表长幼)

He was happy in his later life.晚年

As for(就...而言) French and German, the latter is more difficult for me than the former.

形容词的比较级

1，...比较级... than

Your article is longer than mine.

Mary is more beautiful than her/she (is).

2，...the比较级...of the two(both/twins/parents)...

Kevin is the older of the two boys.

Jack is the more active of the twins.

3，修饰比较级

①much/(a lot)/far + 比较级，...多了

②even + 比较级，更加

③a little + 比较级，...一点

He is much busier than i/me. 忙的多

The price of the blue pants is far higher than that of the green pauts.  at high/low price，价格高/低

The weather in SH is even hotter than that in BJ.

The weather is even hotter in SH than in BJ. 

*比较时，若主题相同或语意上清楚明白时，than以下部分可省略

They live(过...生活) a more pleasant life than they did before.

4，比较级，...to...

junior(年幼的)，senior(年长的)，major(大的)，minor(小的)等形容词，在表示比较的对象时，不用than而用to

She is two years older than me/i.

She is senior to me by two years.她比我大两岁

5，比较级的惯用表现

*比较级and比较级，越来越，taller and taller

The story became more and more interesting.

*the比较级+s+v，the比较级+s+v，越...越...the more, the better

The more wo get, the happier we'll be.

*more than(超过)，less than(少于)

The man is over/more than eighty years old.

形容词的最高级

1，...the最高级 + 名词 + 地点/(of the three)/(of all).

Helen is the best student of all.

Mt.Everest is the highest mountain in the world.

2，原级，比较级，最高级互换

XX is the biggest city in China.

XX is bigger than any other city in China.

XX is bigger than all the other cities in China.

No other city in China is bigger than XX.

No other cities in China are as big as China.

*加other(其他的)，其功用为避免和本身做比较

New York is bigger than any other city in America.

New York is bigger than any city in XX.

3，as原级as，像...一样

This jacket is as expensive as this sweater.

Your hair is as long as mine.

*否定句时，可用not as/not so...as...

This  question is not so difficult as it seems.

副词的比较级，最高级

1，规则变化

字尾无ly，fast->faster->fastest

字尾有ly，quickly->more quickly->most quickly

2，不规则变化，baddly/ill->worse->worst，well->better->best，much->more->most，little->less->least

far，farther->farthest，further->furthest

3，副词的比较级+than

He can sing better than Lisa.

I study harder than my friends.

4，...the副词最高级 + 地点/of...，the可省略

My father gets up (the) earliest of us all.

Cathy dances (the) most beautifully.

5，形容词和副词的状态不同

Tom is the fastest(adj) boy of all.

Tom runs (the) fastest(adv) of all.

6，疑问词+比较级

Which fruit do you like better(more), apples or oranges?

Which do you like(v) (the) best(adv)/most，apples oranges or peaches?
