According to the schedule in our laboratory, we need to submit the master thesis without author information on December 20th, submit the master thesis with author information on December 21st, prepare for the thesis presentation on December 31th, and finally, make the thesis presentation on January 7th.

Before I submit my master thesis, I need to check my repetition rate. I check it on PaperRight on December 20th, and the report said that my repetition rate is 25%.

Of course, I cannot believe it. So I recheck it on PaperPass on December 21th, and for this time, the reporter said that my repetition rate is 5%.

I think it’s acceptable. But the teacher said that it’s still too high. One student checks his thesis on CnkiVip and gets a 0.9% repetition rate. So I decided to recheck my thesis on this system on December 21st.

For my Bachelor’s degree thesis, I check it on PaperRight or PaperPass and get a 7% repetition rate. When I submit it and the school gets a 2% repetition rate. Thus, I distrust the result. I wrote those sentences by myself but the system judges them as plagiarism. It’s ridiculous.

All the system for repetition rate seems for Chinese only. Does that mean for foreign colleges, they needn’t check the repetition rate for degree thesis? I don’t know yet. But I will know for I’m bound to study for a master or MBA in America in September 2022.

But I cannot understand the measures. There must be a time when many students do plagiarism in their degree thesis. So such a repetition rate check system is developed. It makes sense. It’s a lesson that if we’re lack trust, we need to pay a higher cost.
