A Mathematical Exploration of the Computational Universe: A Critique of Wolfram’s Framework
The concept of a computational universe as proposed by Stephen Wolfram posits that the universe’s complexity arises from simple computational processes. In his book “A New Kind of Science,” Wolfram suggests that these processes, akin to cellular automata, can model everything from the growth of plants to the behavior of financial markets. I love the idea and subscribe to many parts in the book. I am not sure if I am completely onboard with the theory though.
