常用的句子，可替代普通中文的句型：

combined with.

一些容易用错的概念：

1）compare  to  把。。比作。。。  compare with  把。。。和。。。。比较

2）restricted 通常是可以做到,但是不被允许   limited 一般讲本身就是有这种限制,而不是受制于他人
比如：This area is restricted.这个地方闲人免进.这个地方本身没什么问题,是他人的限制造成不允许进入
My time is limited.我的时间有限.时间本来就是不充足有限的,并不是因为别人的干涉

3）a number of + 可数名词复数 谓语用复数    the number of +可数名词复数 谓语用单数
    an amount of + 不可数名词 谓语用单数       the amount of + 不可数名词 谓语用单

 

关于称呼

senior scientist or principal investigator  资深科学家或首席研究员
post doctoral researcher    博士后研究员
technician or assistant     技师或助理
university lecturer      大学讲师
research director     研究主任
research or laboratory scientist    研究或实验室科学家
Prof.是professor的简写，即教授。 Dr.是doctor的简写，即博士（最高学位。且必须是取得该头衔后才能称呼。在读博士是 Doctoral Candidate）。
Prof.Dr.的称呼应该只是将两个并列，类似于国内的作者简介中“教授，博士”的职称学历列出。Prof.则不一定有Dr.的学历。
有一说将Prof. Dr. 也称为“博士生导师”，同PhD supervisor；Prof.则是普通教授。
