What's the career direction?

 

I’ve spent several months in career planning. There are two ways for me to career development. One is to be a software developer, and the other way is to be a sales. Because my major is software engineering, especially in College of Software, to develop software is certainly a reasonable way. And I’m confirmed that I would be an excellent software developer if I join in the software developer group directly. But what’s the next step? I am thinking about the future. I can not be able to develop software forever; I will have to change the role sooner or later. Perhaps three years later, I can turn to be a project manager. Considering the space I would have been playing in, I am afraid what I can hold at that time is just the technological development experiences and some project management experiences. What else can I have? At that moment, perhaps I would find I’ve been constrained mainly by the technology and the company. Three years later, I will still have to live in the control of the framework of some company. I am still be busy with living and there is no economic freedom yet. And these are just what I am worried about.

      Concerning the alternative choice, I am passionate with marketing. I want to be sales. Only in the market, can I feel brave and free. I like the feeling of competing. But so far, I’ve not been sure to get a good position in sales in an excellent company even though I have spent lots of time in marketing major subjects.

I am trying my best to achieve the goal and I believe I can make it.
