why do we need auto SerDes for video data transmission?

for ADAS, the first step is perception.
we need different sensors to Imitate human sensory organs.
so there is lots of data and should be passed to Soc’ board.
so board to board transmission method is needed.
there are 2 ways: parallel and serial.

for parallel transmission: how many bits of a data unit in a clock unit interval, so you will need how many wires to connect 2 boards.

the result is expensive and heavy. and more parts means more Failure Probability.
for parallel signal integrity, skew between data and clk wires, is more difficult when more data wires is needed.
