英语写作中“限制”“抑制”confine restrain restraint 的用法

一、confine（限制）在科技写作中与restrict同义，用法也相同：confine……to……，但是在科技写作中没有restrict 常用，不再举例。

二、restrain和constrain可以认为是一对词，constrain是将事物限制在一个范围内，而restrain是“抑制”，就是越小越好，例如：

Mobile phones restrain background noise effectively，thereby boosting communication quality.（手机有效地抑制了背景噪声，提高了通话质量。）

restraint是restrain的名词，例如：

In communication, the goal of filtering is essentially noise restraint.（在通信中，滤波的目的本质上是噪声抑制。）
