low power基础知识简介

1、component of power：

Leakage power: lpower dissipated in steady state.

Dynamic power: power dissipated due to transition/activity. Signal toggling, glitches, short-circuit will cause dynamic power

in addition, dynamic power is component of switching power and internal power.

1) Switching power is caused by signal changing.

2) And other dissipated power is internal power

2、switching power:

when input signal change from 0 to 1, or change from 1 to 0,  power will charge or discharge output load. this is switching power.

3、internal power:

When signal switching, PMOS and NMOS will short during transition (short circuit power). And any existing internal capacitances need to charged and discharged.
