ubuntu18.04 install pangolin and possible questions

1. Compile and install Pangolin

download it from github:

sudo git clone https://github.com/stevenlovegrove/Pangolin /pangolin

install dependency for pangolin (mainly the OpenGL):

sudo apt-get install libglew-dev

compile and install pangolin cd [path-to-pangolin]

mkdir build 
cd build 
cmake .. 

if you have some warning in cmake:No package ‘wayland-protocols’ found.
you should execute:apt install wayland-protocols

sudo make install

Questions you may encounter in this step:

Lack dependence libxkbcommon-x11-dev

xkbcommon can not found !

sudo apt install libxkbcommon-x11-dev

if you run “sudo apt install libxkbcommon-x11-dev” get a dependency conflict problem and you do not want to use arm64-support,you can try:

dpkg --print-foreign-architectures

if this step can not help you delete ,you can try

sudo rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/*
sudo apt-get remove .*:arm64
sudo dpkg --remove-architecture arm64 

repeat the above steps

2.run examples

compile this program:

mkdir build 
cd build 
cmake .. 
make

Questions you may encounter in this step:

error while loading shared libraries!
Maybe the library what you lack is ‘libpango_python.so’ or ‘libpango_image.so’ or else.
If you can find them in “/usr/local/lib”.Congratulation!You only execute the following command

sudo gedit /etc/ld.so.conf

Add at the end:

/usr/local/lib

Warning: Don’t cross lines
And then

/sbin/ldconfig –v

repeat the above steps
