Black Friday Shopping is Moving Online

Black Friday has always been the largest shopping event of the year in the United States. However, the number of people shopping in stores on Black Friday has been falling, with many retailers like Walmart, Target, and Amazon kicking off their holiday discounts online several weeks in advance. In fact, this year Black Friday shopping is expected to fall by about 3.5%, but overall spending is expected to increase by about 3.6%.

The difference is that half of American shoppers are expected to get most of their holiday shopping done even before Black Friday rolls around this year.
